Three teens arrested after spray of bullets damages Salem street in targeted attack
Salem police arrested three teenagers Friday morning in connection with a Monday shooting during which at least 66 shots were let loose on a public street.
Boston resident Ronnie Cato, 19, Quincy resident John King-Marshall, 18, and Somerville resident Richardson Frederic, 18, are each facing three counts of armed assault with intent to murder, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and several firearms charges, Salem police said in a press release.
On April 14, Salem police responded to Albion Street shortly before 7 a.m. for multiple reports of gunshots, the department said. No one was injured during the shooting, but the bullets struck cars and buildings in the area, and everyone nearby was endangered.
The suspects fled Salem after the shooting, police said. Officers recovered 66 shell casings at the scene.
Investigators determined that this was a targeted attack on multiple victims that had been carried out by three suspects, police said. They soon identified the suspects and obtained arrest and search warrants.
Detectives executed the warrants for the three suspects around dawn Friday morning and arrested them at their homes, police said. Investigators also recovered two guns.
