Cocoa woman, 24, charged after shooting woman parked with boyfriend
A 24-year-old Cocoa woman was charged with attempted first-degree murder after Brevard County deputies said she shot a woman who had been sitting in a car with the suspect's boyfriend early Saturday in the Port St. John area.
According to an arrest affidavit, Katherine Dale Kelly, 24, said her boyfriend, Elijah Baker took her car, without her permission, in the early morning hours of Oct. 24.
Kelly then put her pink and black Glock pistol into her purse, police say, and took an Uber to the are where she believed Baker was.

She found the car in a grassy field off Bamboo Avenue, where Baker was parked with Angel Adenau. Kelly walked to the passenger side and fired one round, the affidavit says. Adenau was hit in the left shoulder.
Baker then drove Adenau home, woke up the other residents of the house and drove away before authorities could respond. Adenau was later treated at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Baker than returned to the site of the shooting, picked up Kelly and drove her home.
Later that night, Baker texted Kelly that he loved and that he was sorry about the whole event.
The police noted that Kelly had first told them she acted in self-defense, but later found that she texted Baker just minutes earlier that she was going to shoot someone.
She later told police she wanted to "make a point."
When asked if she felt guilty for shooting Adenau, Kelly told the police that she believed in "Karma," and that Adenau should have known that Baker had a girlfriend.
Kelly remains held at the Brevard County Jail without bond. Her arraignment will take place Nov. 24 at the Viera Courthouse. Baker has not been charged with a crime.
