The man charged with the murder of Christina Downer, the sister of Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie, has been named in court documents as her boyfriend, Delorean Bijon Brandon.

Downer disappeared in September 2025. Brandon later told police that she had moved out of their home, leaving behind her belongings, including her car and dog.

In December 2025, Downer's ex-husband requested a welfare check when he was unable to contact her, and investigators subsequently found her cellphone washed up on a Santa Monica Beach.

Downer's brother, Jimmy Fowlie, publicly shared multiple posts asking for help locating his sister following her disappearance. He also alleged that someone had used her phone and social-media accounts after her disappearance to create the impression that she had voluntarily gone "off the grid."

Brandon and 34-year-old Kaylee Markowski were arrested last month and have since been charged in connection with the murder of Downer, whose body has not been found.

Who Is Delorean Bijon Brandon?

Delorean Bijon Brandon, 41, from Los Angeles was dating Downer at the time of her disappearance.

According to court records shared by Los Angeles Magazine and cited by other media, Brandon has previous convictions for robbery and attempted robbery in 2008 and criminal threats in 2015.

On or about September 19, 2025, Brandon is accused of killing Downer, while Markowski, who is described by the district attorney's office as Brandon's girlfriend, is accused of helping him dispose of the victim's body.

In the current case, prosecutors have additionally charged Brandon over two alleged domestic-violence incidents relating to another woman from 2022.

Court records reported by the Los Angeles Times revealed that Brandon had sought restraining orders against Markowski in the weeks before Downer's disappearance. In a petition from September 2025 Brandon alleged that Markowski became violent when he broke up with her, at one point threatening to shoot him. He included alleged instances of harassment that dated back to early 2022 when he said Markowski keyed his car "because she was upset that I was with Christina."

But on September 19, prosecutors allege that Downer was murdered.

"More than a year has passed since Christina Downer vanished and her family and friends have dealt with uncertainty amid the profound loss of someone they loved so much," Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement earlier this week. "Although Ms. Downer has not been located, we are charging two individuals today who are accused of playing a role in her death and disappearance and we will hold them accountable for their actions."

Downer's brother, SNL writer Fowlie, confirmed in an emotional Instagram post earlier this year that he and his family had been told that Downer was dead, and that police were now investigating a homicide.

"Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable," he wrote.

Fowlie has not publicly commented since the arrest of Brandon and Markowski were publicly confirmed.

The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Hilary Williams of the Major Crimes Division and remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division.
