FEMA: Trump approves major Disaster Declaration for Texas

WASHINGTON, D.C. ( FOX 44 ) - FEMA has announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Texas to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding on July 12, 2026, and continuing.

FEMA says Public Assistance federal funding is available to the state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair and replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding in Bandera, Crockett, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, La Salle, Mason, Maverick, Menard, Real, Sutton, Uvalde, Val Verde and Zavala counties.

Roland W. Jackson has been named the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected areas. Additional designations may be made if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
