Police Seek Victims After Man Arrested For Secret Shoe Camera, Hidden Taco Bell Camera Recordings
Police in California are searching for additional victims after a man was arrested for allegedly using a shoe-mounted camera to record up the skirts of women and girls.
The Berkeley Police Department said the investigation began on Oct. 26 when a teenage girl reported that a man may have been recording upskirt videos in the line at the Lox Stock and Bagel at 2043 Allston Way. The victim said she accidentally stepped on the man's foot and spotted a camera pointed toward her.
Detectives collected evidence from the scene and identified a possible suspect, and Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology placed the suspect in the area at the time of the incident.
A "significant break" in the investigation came in the early hours of Oct. 30 when a passerby flagged down a patrol officer in the area of Durant Avenue and Bowditch Street to report seeing a man with a camera attached to his shoe recording up women's skirts.
Officers located the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Noah Stein, on the 2500 block of Durant Avenue and detained him. Officers searched the nearby area and found a "mini" camera in a trash can. Investigators also executed a search warrant at his Oakland residence and seized multiple electronic devices.

Stein was arrested on suspicion of invasion of privacy using a concealed video recording device; annoying or molesting a minor; and destruction of evidence.
Detectives say the recordings reveal there may be additional victims.
Stein had allegedly been "frequenting the South Campus area for several weeks" and may have recorded additional victims there. Detectives also learned Stein allegedly installed a stationary hidden camera inside the Taco Bell Cantina at 2528 Durant Avenue at around 11 p.m. on Oct. 29.
Police are now asking anyone who was inside that Taco Bell Cantina after 11 p.m. on Oct. 29, anyone who believes they may have been secretly recorded, and anyone who has information about the case to contact the Berkeley Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit at 510-981-5735.
