CMA Fest weather looks bright, muggy and to end with rain in Nashville

Break out the sunscreen, you're going to need it for CMA Fest.

CMA Fest kicks off in downtown Nashville with beautiful sunny weather and highs near 86, the National Weather Service office in Nashville said June 4.

But as the festival goes on, you'll need to add an extra layer of hairspray.

"As moisture return increases into the weekend, clouds will return to the area for Friday and Saturday and it'll start to feel a bit more muggy out there," the weather service said. "Highs will remain in the 80s, and could creep into the 90s on Saturday."

That cloud coverage will make for some lovely evening concerts at Nissan Stadium.

Rain chances do make an appearance before the end of CMA Fest. There's about a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms June 7, that will kick off another pattern of rain into next week.

"While we are not expecting organized severe weather at this time, storms will be typical summertime storms: bubbling up in the hottest parts of the day, could be a strong storm or two with some gusty winds or small hail, and then dissipating around sunset," the weather service said.

Nashville could also exceed 90 degrees during the festival.

"Other areas are cooler...for now. As we all know summer time heat comes for us all in due time," the weather service said.
