This writer is now, and has always been, Team Angelina. (I’m a brunette, I have to support my people.) But seeing this photo, in which AniPitt look so young, so un-Botoxed, so in love, Jen resplendent in Prada and a prissy little baguette bag, Brad tieless in his dopey puka-shell necklace — it’s enough to make a girl switch teams.

This Sunday, Sept. 18, Hollywood's finest will gather for the Emmy Awards in a no-doubt impressive parade of tastefully styled designer gowns. But not too many years ago, things were different. A-list actresses wore cheesy cupcake gowns with layers of froofy tulle. Music icons wore spangled jeans. Lisa Kudrow turned up in an iridescent bedazzled dress that looked suspiciously like the one we begged our moms to buy us from the DeLiA*s catalog.

In celebration of the festivities, take a look back with us to the turn of the century and all the fashion — and, sometimes, stars — we forgot we used to love (sorry, Keri Russell).
