Murewa

Ché Scott-Heron Newton is a London-based documentary filmmaker whose work explores the relationship between personal memory and wider social histories. Drawing on archive, memory and lived experience, her films examine friendship, race, class and belonging. Her debut short, Murewa — constructed entirely from five years of home-movie footage — premiered at SXSW 2025 before screening internationally at DOC NYC and in the Lab Competition at Clermont-Ferrand; it was long-listed for a BIFA and won Best Documentary Short at the Nevada City Film Festival and Flatpack Festival. With a background in sociology, Ché approaches documentary as both an artistic and analytical practice, drawn to intimate, long-term storytelling and to films that reveal how personal lives are shaped by wider social and political forces. She is currently studying Documentary Directing at the National Film and Television School.

A Londoner of mixed British and Indian descent, Matt Houghton is a BAFTA-winning filmmaker who makes films about outsiders and the unheard, experimenting with form and often treading the line between fact and fiction. This Is Endometriosis, co-directed with the film's protagonist Georgie Wileman, won the 2026 BAFTA for Best Short Film and was nominated for a 2025 Grierson Award for Best Documentary Short; Landline won the 2018 Grierson Award for Best Documentary Short, and his first short, Dear Araucaria, made in partnership with the Guardian, won the Audience Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2015. His found-footage film Earth To Cop, an eyewitness portrait of climate change, screened for 140 world leaders at the COP26 opening ceremony. A founding member of Fee Fie Foe, Matt was an associate producer on Notes On Blindness, The Real Charlie Chaplin and the Netflix Original feature Apollo Thirteen: Survival, and most recently produced Murewa, which premiered at SXSW 2025 and was longlisted for Best Short at the BIFA Awards 2025. He is currently in post-production on his debut feature, With A Gun And A Radio.
