Student, 22, 'Never Made It to Class.' Nearly a Week Later, They Remain Missing

Police in Kentucky are appealing for the public's help to locate a missing student.

Murry "Alexis" Foust, a student at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) School of the Arts, hasn't been seen since Monday, April 27, said the Covington Police Department (CPD) in an Instagram post .

“Concerns for their safety have arisen, and your input could be crucial,” wrote the CPD.

As Foust, 22, remains missing on Friday, May 1, the CPD shared new surveillance photos on Instagram of the student walking alone. Foust is seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and T-shirt, loose-fitting patterned pants, black sneakers and a yellow backpack.

“We are still actively searching for the missing person, Murry (Alexis) Foust," said the CPD. "These photos are from the most recent surveillance footage we have found. They were last seen in the area of the Latonia neighborhood of Covington."

Corey Best, chief of communications at NKU, said in a statement to Fox 19 , “Northern Kentucky University is aware that one of our students, Alexis 'Murry' Foust, has been reported missing. Our thoughts are with their family, friends and all those impacted. The Covington Police Department is leading the investigation, and we are fully cooperating and supporting their efforts. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Covington Police.”

According to a Facebook post shared by friend Charlie King, Foust was last seen heading to NKU from Over the Rhine, Cincinnati, at around 5:30 p.m. local time on Monday and “never made it to class.”

Foust is described as five feet and seven inches tall, with brown eyes and dyed-black, shoulder-length hair. They have some tattoos, including a “geometric striped pattern on their elbow, a ram skull on their upper arm and a depiction of a crucified Jesus Christ on one of their shins," according to the post.

King said that Foust’s car was located a block from their apartment in Latonia and their bag was found at the NKU. Foust’s cellphone was allegedly found by police at their apartment.

The CPD has not publicly confirmed any of the details shared by King or provided any further information amid their investigation.

“There is not a trace of Murry anywhere, and their friends, family, and one of my best friends, who is their partner, are all very worried,” wrote King. “At this point, it is crucial we begin spreading the word and searching for them.”

The CPD is asking anyone with information about Foust’s whereabouts to call 911 or 859-292-2234.

The CPD and NKU School of the Arts did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for further comment.
