Trump promises Americans an economic ‘snap back’

( NewsNation ) — President Donald Trump is addressing Americans’ economic concerns as the war with Iran continues and gas prices rise nationwide.

Trump has told Americans to “stick with me,” even as inflation increases and gas prices climb to a national average of $4.43 a gallon, according to AAA.

Throughout the conflict, Trump has said the economic strain will be temporary and worth it if it prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

“We had the greatest economy in history in my first administration, and in the second, I think we’re blowing it away,” Trump said Friday at the Forum Club in Florida. “But I’m sorry, we had to make a detour to Iran. Everything will snap back.”

A Gallup poll conducted in early April found that about 55% of Americans believe their financial situation is getting worse as the conflict continues, compared with 34% who said it is improving.

A separate Reuters/Ipsos poll shows 27% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the economy, while 63% disapprove.
