Fact Check: FALSE Rumor About Mike Johnson Moving Jasmine Crockett's Office Into Filing Room With No Windows Did NOT Come From Real News Website

Did a story about House Speaker Mike Johnson moving Texas representative Jasmine Crockett's office into a filing room with no windows come from a real news website? No, that's not true: The rumor was first published by a known trollery network that adds satire labels to each of its pages. No credible media organizations reported the supposed story.

The claim originated from a post (archived here ) published on Facebook by the @ALLODRetro page on Sept. 2, 2026. The caption read:

Mike Johnson has been enjoying toying with the Democrats.

The shared image continued:

House Speaker Mike Johnson had the last laugh after Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett refused to stop interrupting members using their allocated time on the House floor.

Crockett, who believes she has 'nothing to lose' since she'll be out of a job in a few months, ignored Johnson's warnings, so he made it clear that he controls the lower chamber, not her.

Congresswoman Crockett arrived on the Hill this morning to find her office had been moved to a filing room with no windows in the basement of the Rayburn Building for the duration of her term while

Johnson refused to hear her objections because he doesn't have to.

Crockett has entered the 'find out' phase of her dying career.

The same disclaimer appeared in the bottom left corner of the image from the post reviewed in this fact check.

A broad search across Google News for Johnson's and Crockett's names (archived here ) didn't show anything remotely similar to what the viral post alleged.

ALLOD, or the " America's Last Line of Defense " (archived here ), is a network of satire websites run by self-professed liberal troll Christopher Blair from Maine along with a loose confederation of friends and allies. He runs several websites and Facebook pages with visible satire disclaimers everywhere. They mostly publish made-up stories with headlines specifically created to trigger Republicans, conservatives and evangelical Christians into angrily sharing or commenting on the story on Facebook without actually reading the full article, exposing them to mockery and ridicule by fans of the sites and pages.
