Easy DIY faux Succulent Wreath One thing in my life is certain. Anytime I walk into Hobby Lobby I’m going to make a beeline for the clearance aisle. Without a doubt it’s where I find most of the supplies for wreaths such as the burlap and decomesh Rodeo Wreath or the Chalkboard Valentine Wreath . I have been wanting a Succulent Wreath for a long time but because of my black thumb and the awesomeness of the clearance aisle, I wound up with this Easy DIY Succulent Wreath.  The good news is that you don’t have to keep anything alive! Last year I made a plan to finally take a chance and make a living succulent wreath. I was going to be gorgeous, I could just tell.  I went out and bought several smaller succulents and set out to take care of them so that they would multiply and provide me with enough succulents to make a wreath.  But they didn’t multiply…. they just divided and then were subtracted. Slowly but surely they gave up the good fight to live. So imagine my happiness when I strolled the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby and found realistic faux succulents for under a dollar each? They were the exact same ones that were on sale for several dollars each across the store but the company changed their label so these had to go. Succulent Wreath using fake succulents What do you do when you find a deal that great? You buy it all!  I used a simple straw wreath and covered a small portion in it with moss sheets that I had left over from the moss covered Easter eggs. Then I wrapped the entire wreath in  red stripped ribbon and glued the succulents on using hot glue. I love it but it was still missing something.  So I made  small loops out of the ribbon and used 2-3 of them under each succulant as if they were an accent leaf.  Succulent wreath I love it and here’s why: It’s simple, pretty and colorful without looking like an easter egg threw up on it. The bright green is the perfect color for spring while the red striped fabric has a welcoming nautical summer feel to it.  Without a doubt, this is a wreath I’ll be using a lot of.  Stay safe and have fun creating!
