Arthur Hornblow, Jr., was born in New York City, March 15, 1893. He entered Dartmouth College as a member of the Class of 1915, leaving before graduating to study law. He served in the Intelligence Corps of the US Army during World War I, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and was decorated for his service by the French government. After the war, Mr. Hornblow was employed as the editor of Theatre Magazine and produced plays in New York, until becoming a writer for Samuel Goldwyn in 1926.
The majority of Mr. Hornblow's career was as a film producer, for Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and as an independent producer, forming his own production company. Among the films he produced are Ruggles of Red Gap, Gaslight, Oklahoma, Asphalt Jungle and Witness for the Prosecution . Arthur Hornblow died in New York City, July 17, 1976.
