Jeff ShoupJeff Shoup Director of Housing and Residence Life and Assistant Dean of Students He/His

Jeff joined the DePauw University Housing and Residence Life staff as Director and Assistant Dean of Students in August 2023.  He is an Indiana native, growing up in Cass County near Logansport.  Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Manchester College and a Master of Education from Kent State University in Student Personnel Services Education with an emphasis in Community Counseling. 

Jeff has worked in housing and residence life at Kent State University, the University of South Dakota, the University of Notre Dame and Ball State University.  He has been active in several professional organizations and has presented at local, regional and national conferences on various housing and residential life topics.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing cards, league bowling, fishing and traveling.

Angelique S SerranoAngelique S Serrano ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HOUSING AND RESIDENCE LIFE she/hers

Angelique began working with Housing and Residence Life in the fall of 2019. As a Posse scholar from Chicago, IL, Angelique graduated from DePauw University in May 2019, receiving a B.A. in Communication with minors in Education Studies and English Literature. During her time at DePauw, Angelique served as both a resident assistant for first-year and upperclassmen communities and an admission intern. This year, Angelique oversees the residential communities within Rector Village, and University-Owned Apartments and Houses (UOAHs). Angelique transitioned into the role of Assistant Director at the beginning of Spring 2024. 

Outside of Housing and Residence Life, Angelique is a Green Dot bystander intervention trainer and coach for DePauw Cheerleading. Angelique is also working towards a master's degree in student affairs and higher education at Indiana State University.

Rachel began her role in Housing and Residence Life in the summer of 2022. She is originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana and grateful to be a Hoosier working alongside students and young adults in her home state. 

Prior to her role at DePauw, she received her Bachelor of Arts in religion and civic innovation at Emory & Henry College. While at E&H, she was able to take full advantage of the liberal arts culture on campus by being involved in Greek life, spiritual life, civic advocacy, as well as theater. Rachel holds a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University where she studied chaplaincy, pastoral care, and transformative practices of education. She has served a term as an AmeriCorps VISTA and has experience in young adult advocacy in higher education and nonprofit spaces.

Rachel enjoys crafting, hiking, and quality time with her partner Jeffrey, alongside their dog (June Anne) and cat (Artemis).

Dinah PowellDinah Powell HOUSING AND RESIDENCE LIFE COORDINATOR

Dinah has been working in Housing and Residence Life at DePauw since Spring of 2024. She is originally from Brownsburg, IN and obtained a B.F.A. in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Evansville with an emphasis in Costume and Puppetry Construction.

During her time in undergrad, Dinah served as a Resident Assistant for upperclassmen floors for three years, being promoted to Senior Resident Assistant for the last two years. After this, Dinah transitioned into the Housing Department at the University of Southern Indiana and worked for two years as a Hall Coordinator over half of the first-year residence halls and Themed Living Communities. In her current position at DePauw, Dinah continues to oversee two of the first-year residence halls.

Dinah really enjoys jewelry-making, creating puppets, and spending time with her family.
