Dr. Lisa Augustyn, PT, DPT earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Midwestern University in 2008. Her undergraduate work was completed at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Kinesiology. 

Dr. Augustyn works to improve her skills through continuing education courses. She has attended courses in Graston technique, cervical and lumbar spine dysfunction/mobilization, total knee/hip replacement, Pilates; for physical therapy patients, taping techniques and many others.  Dr. Augustyn was the chair of a knee special interest group for about 6 years developing post-operative protocols for the knee and presenting current research to colleagues. 

Dr. Augustyn also has written numerous online continuing education courses regarding various outpatient physical therapy topics including the following: Post-operative rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, Hip/Knee/Shoulder Osteoarthritis, Hip Resurfacing, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome/Nerve entrapment, Strength training for older adults, Achilles Tendon Rupture/Repair, Assistive devices and others. Dr. Augustyn writes articles for fitness websites, has written an e-book on the topic of sedentary lifestyle and back pain, blog articles regarding patient engagement and writes study questions for a physical therapy board exam preparation company.

Dr. Augustyn's hands on manual techniques and evidence based practice allows her to treat every patient individually based upon their needs and goals. Her experience in outpatient orthopedics has allowed her to become well versed in a variety of diagnoses and treatments. She has helped orthopedic surgeons develop post-operative protocols and is able to adjust treatment accordingly to reach maximal outcomes for each patient.

She specializes in pre-and post-operative knee and shoulder dysfunctions including partial and total joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs, ACL reconstructions and meniscus dysfunction. She has years of experience treating post-operative ankle ORIF, Achilles tendon repairs, plantar fasciitis and other foot/ankle pathologies.   Dr. Augustyn also has had years of experience working with patients with spine conditions both operative and non-operative and pelvic obliquities.
