Welcome to the Education Zone of Eberhard's Dairy!
Here you will find a video detailing the history of Eberhard's Dairy and the journey that our milk makes from the farm to local Central Oregon schools for lunch. From the video we have developed PDF' featuring activities rooted in different subjects targeted for 2nd-4th Grade, each connecting to Oregon State Standards.

Social Studies:
Farm to Table Step Scramble
Time for Activity: 20-30 Minutes
Description: Cut out and arrange the steps to learn about the journey from farm to table. Students will cut out descriptions and photos from the word and photo banks, matching them to one another, and glue them to the template.
Common Core Standard: 3.16 Describe the relationship between producers and consumers.

Science:
Butter Making Activity and Worksheet
Time Needed: 30 Minutes
Description: Follow our tutorial to create homemade butter with your class. Students will take turns shaking a mason jar (provided by Eberhard's) filled with whipped cream (also provided by Eberhard's). Fill the worksheet noting the changes from liquid to solid.
Common Core Standard: 2-PS1-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to describe and classify different kinds of materials by their observable properties. [Clarification Statement: Observation could include color, texture, hardness, and flexibility. Patterns could include the similar properties that different materials share.]

Worksheet
Time for Activity: 15-20 Minutes
Description: A multiplication and division worksheet for third graders using numbers based off of facts shown in the video.Common Core Standard: 3.OA.3 Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with symbol for the unknown numbers to represent the problem.

A Day in the Life
Time for Activity: 20-30 Minutes
Description: Students will write a 'Day in the Life' of our mascot Moo Moo Belle. This PDF features the option to do a story format or a schedule format depending on students needs. Please submit your stories to emilye@eberhardsdairy.com

Art Part I:
Paper Mache Cow Masks
Time Needed:
Art Prep Total: 35 Minutes
Art Class Total: 1 1/2 Hours
Description: Students will create their own Paper Mache Cow Masks using our tutorial.
Common Core Standard: AR.03. CP.01 Use experiences, imagination, essential elements and organizational principles to achieve a desired effect when creating, presenting and/or performing works of art.

Art Part II:
Drama Extension
Time Needed: 45 Minutes- 1 Hour
Description: Once completing Art Part I, students will utilize their masks as creative stimulus with our easy to follow Drama extension resulting in short improvised scenes.
Common Core Standard: AR.03. CP.01 Use experiences, imagination, essential elements and organizational principles to achieve a desired effect when creating, presenting and/or performing works of art.

Nutrition Information
Calcium is essential for kids and teenagers to help build healthy, strong bones. It is recommended that
9-18 year olds get 1,300 milligrams
(3 glasses of milk) of calcium a day while
4-8 year olds should get 1,000 milligrams
(3 glasses of milk) a day.
In addition to Calcium, milk is the number one source of several key nutrients of a healthy diet including potassium, phosphorous, and magnesium.
