The Africa Diplomatic Tourism and Investment Forum (ADTIF) 2025 is scheduled to take place from August 20 to 22, 2025, at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo, Mozambique.
ADTIF 2025 is a high-level platform that harnesses diplomacy to accelerate strategic investment and economic cooperation across key sectors in Africa.
Organized jointly by the African Tourism Board (ATB) and the African Union Sixth Region Global (AU6RG), the Economic Community of Africa Sixth Region (ECASR), and the African Travel Commission (ATC), the forum is set to discuss the role of tourism and investment in Africa’s sustainable development.
The event will bring together government leaders, diplomats, investors, private sector representatives, and the African diaspora to discuss the role of tourism and investment in Africa’s sustainable development.
ATB Chairman Mr Cuthbert Ncube said through the Board’s official statement that ADTIF 2025 represents a milestone for advancing African economic diplomacy and a strategic opportunity to enhance intra-African mobility, boost tourism investment, and strengthen collaboration between African nations and the diaspora.
“This event will not only strengthen relations between governments and the private sector but also create real opportunities for tourism growth and Africa’s economic integration,” Mr Ncube said.
ADTIF 2025 is being held in a particularly significant year for the continent, highlighting the importance of the diaspora’s role in Africa’s economic development, he added.
Hosting this continental event in Mozambique coincides with the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations, making it a symbolic moment to promote African cooperation and stimulate new economic opportunities, ATB statement said.
The forum is expected to welcome over 500 delegates from different parts of Africa and the diaspora, with a global media reach.
High-profile representatives are expected from Algeria, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco, Eswatini, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Cape Verde, and Angola.
Participants at the ADTIF 2025 are expected to discuss Africa’s diversity and economic strength on the global stage.
Over the three days, ADTIF 2025 will provide a platform for debate, negotiations, and partnership building featuring high-level sessions, strategic panels, diplomatic and business exhibitions.
Discussions will be targeting and addressing key topics that are essential for integration and economic growth for Africa, including Economic Diplomacy and Tourism as a Tool for Foreign Relations.
Other topics for discussion are the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), and the African Passport as Enablers of Tourism and Trade.
Participants for this high-level forum, including heads of state from various African states, will also address the impact of digital transformation on tourism and investment in Africa.
They will also discuss strategies aimed at promoting Mega Events and Business Tourism to Attract Investments in Africa in line with the aspirations of the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063.
The forum is expected to host high-ranking government officials, private sector leaders, and diplomats, including representatives from the Government of Mozambique and African institutions, with the aim of reinforcing collaboration in driving Africa’s tourism and investment growth.
Mozambican President Mr. Daniel Chapo is among the African heads of state to participate in and address the ADTIF 2025.
ADTIF 2025 stands as a crucial platform for expanding investment access, strengthening Africa’s economic diplomacy, and fostering deeper cooperation between African nations and the diaspora, the ATB statement said.
Apart from tourism, ADTIF targets to position Africa as a competitive investment destination by promoting cross-border partnerships, strengthening regional value chains, and unlocking opportunities in key economic sectors, including infrastructure, energy, finance, agriculture, and digital transformation.
