F rom August 17- 20 th , Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of Korea (MOF) participated in renowned BEERFEST ASIA 2017 (the Asia’s largest beer festival) held in Singapore at Marina Bay Cruise Centre followed by Qingdao Beer Festival last year. MOF promoted laver snacks under the brand name K – FISH at BEERFEST ASIA 2017.
Many Singaporeans and t ourists have visited BEERFEST ASIA 2017 and majority of them were in their 20-30s .
K – FISH was introduced as the OFFICIAL SEAWEED at BEERFEST ASIA 2017 through the official website, social platform s , as well as an announcement and screen installed at the event hall.
The main product of K – FISH , “laver snack , ” adopted a concept of Chimac (c hicken + b ee r ) culture in Korea, so as to introduce the new concept KimMac (seaweed + b ee r )
There are 3 flavors of laver snack s , namely c heese, c oconut, and a lmond. The c heese flavor goes well with darker beers such as Stout and Dunkel. Coconut flavor is more delectable with the consumption of Pale Lager and Pilsener . A lmond flavor is more savory when consumed with Weizen beer . V isitors enjoyed laver snacks with their own personal preference s at the festival.
MOF promoted laver snack s at indoor and outdoor booths. At the indoor booth, a lucky prize e vent with a prize of laver snacks took place to enhance the awareness of the snack. When people upload ed a photo taken at the outdoor booth with the hash tag #KFISH on their social media account s , laver snacks were distributed as a gift s to maximize the promotion al effect.
T he collaboration with Singapore representative beer brand T iger amplified the promotion of laver snack s . Those who purchased Tiger beer received a packet of laver snack s to try.
M any visitors showed their interes t in laver snack s and asked where they can purchase the products, high quality laver snacks are expected to be well received in the Singapore market .
