Haleสปiwa, Oสปahu – There is encouraging news from the North Shore Chamber of Commerce in Haleสปiwa, the original home of eTurboNews. Following the recent Kona Storm that battered Oสปahu’s North Shore with severe flooding and widespread damage, the region is bouncing back—stronger, united, and ready to welcome visitors once again.
Known for its breathtaking coastline and tight-knit community, the North Shore has demonstrated remarkable resilience. In true island spirit, residents, business owners, and volunteers came together in the aftermath of the storm, working tirelessly to restore this iconic destination. Today, much of the region is back in operation and eager to receive guests with open arms—and aloha.
From Haleสปiwa to Kualoa, many popular attractions and businesses have reopened and are in need of visitor support. Among them are:
- Historic Haleสปiwa Town
- Waimea Valley
- The Ritz-Carlton O‘ahu at Turtle Bay
- Climb Works Zipline
- Gunstock Ranch
- Polynesian Cultural Center
- Kualoa Ranch
Local businesses—including surf shops, boutiques, restaurants, and tour operators—are open and operating. Community leaders emphasize that tourism plays a vital role in recovery, as every visit directly supports families, entrepreneurs, and small businesses that form the economic backbone of the North Shore.
“Supporting local businesses right now is one of the most powerful ways to help our community recover,” said Carol Philips, Vice Chair of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. “We are open, we are welcoming, and we are grateful for the continued support. We just ask that visitors respect residential areas impacted as our community continues its recovery.”
While welcoming visitors, the community respectfully asks travelers to avoid entering rural residential neighborhoods—particularly Waialua and Mokulฤสปia—which were heavily affected by the storm and are still undergoing recovery efforts.
All contributions are placed in a dedicated, fully transparent account, with 100% of funds directed toward cleanup and rebuilding efforts within the community.
The North Shore has always been defined by its enduring sense of community—and in the face of adversity, that spirit shines brighter than ever. Visitors are encouraged not only to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region, but also to play a meaningful role in its recovery.
