The old shrine was destroyed by a fire and the church was built as of 1916.
Hakodate St. John the Church
A cathedral was built in 1878 by the British Denning missionary as a Japanese church of the Anglican Episcopal Church.
The roof is brown, but this looks like a cross as seen from above.

It was founded in 1898 as the first girls congregation monastery in Japan.
