Fumio Kishida, Japan's former top diplomat, is set to become next prime minister
Former Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida is set to become Japan's next prime minister after winning the ruling party's leadership election.
Kishida, who will succeed outgoing Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, faces the imminent tasks of reviving a pandemic-hit economy and ensuring a strong alliance with the U.S. to counter growing regional security risks.
