Michelle Wu, a progressive who promised bold change, coasted to victory Tuesday in a historic Boston mayoral election.
Wu, 36, became the first woman and the first person of color elected to lead the city.
“From every corner of our city Boston has spoken. We are ready to meet this moment. We are ready to become a Boston for everyone,” Wu said in a victory speech.
