Justice Department sues Texas to stop six-week abortion ban that took effect Sept. 1
The Biden administration is trying to try to stop a new law that allows private citizens to sue anyone who helps a woman get an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy − a novel statute the Supreme Court allowed to take effect despite questions over whether it violates the right to an abortion guaranteed by Roe v. Wade and other court cases.
