Our Welcome Center, provides a wide variety of assistance to help answer inquiries of the general public, current and new employees, and other stakeholders

Welcome to Fairfax County Public Schools!

The Welcome Center, located on the first floor of the Gatehouse Administration Center, is a valuable resource for assistance or questions regarding your employment, whether you are currently employed or plan to be in the future. Our Human Resources Team is available weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. You can reach us through our online portal or by phone at 571-423-3000 .

Online Appointment Scheduler

Schedule a service through QLess, an electronic sign-in system designed to significantly improve customer service by reducing wait times and serving visitors more efficiently. Visitors to the Welcome Center for pre-employment tasks or current employment support will experience faster service and significantly reduced wait times. Individuals with appointments in other departments can also check in via QLess without waiting in line, with automatic notifications sent to the relevant department.

  • Providing excellent customer service and communications by delivering reliable information to staff and the community at large.
  • Providing quality assistance to all employees, onsite or remotely, by answering questions or navigating the Onboarding process.
  • Providing accurate and timely information about HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensuring that every candidate selected for hire is in compliance with state and federal laws.

FCPS Welcome Center Services Provided 

  • Directing Human Resources-related inquiries and answering general FCPS inquiries.
  • Creating employee badges and offering badge replacements .
  • Reviewing new hire procedures to ensure a seamless transition to the worksite.
  • Informing employees of their application status.
  • Verifying employment .
  • Providing assistance to newly hired employees during the Onboarding process.
  • Offering fingerprinting and photo badges for new employees, coaches, volunteers , interns, student teachers, and SACC employees.

Our Applicant Computer Center assists employees and the general public with applying for  FCPS career opportunities , provides support with UConnect, helps with accessing the FCPS network and employee email, and addresses other computer-related matters.

Employees, Applicants, and Retirees

Submit questions or concerns, as well as upload forms and other documents through the FCPS StaffConnect portal. Human Resources representatives are also available for assistance Monday – Friday (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) by calling 571-423-3000 or 1-800-831-4331.
