Below is the submitted write-up by a parent of a Forestdale Elementary School student.
I want to take a moment to recognize and deeply thank my son’s special education teacher. From the very first day of school, she has gone above and beyond—not only for my son, but for me as a parent. She consistently keeps me updated with any concerns, progress, or little wins, which means so much. Her communication is thoughtful and honest, and I never feel out of the loop. What stands out most is her support. She reminds me often that I’m doing a great job as a mom, something I didn’t know I needed to hear until she said it. That kind of emotional support is rare and truly appreciated. It’s clear she was meant to work with special needs kids—her patience, kindness, and dedication show in everything she does. Knowing that my son has someone who genuinely cares about him when I’m not around gives me such peace. I’m beyond grateful for her, and I hope she knows how much of a difference she’s made in our lives.
