South Lakes High School's Cell Phone Usage Policy
Cell Phone Policy
South Lakes High School will follow FCPS guidelines given to all schools, implementing a Cell Phone Policy for the 2025-26 school year.
Students and parents/guardians should review the South Lakes High School Cell Phone Policy :
All students should have their cell phones and wireless headphones/air pods put away during the following times:
- During all class periods
- When leaving the classroom with a hall pass
- During breaks and the last few minutes of class
- In hallways during instructional time
- In restrooms during instructional time
Consequences for cell phone violations can be found below:
| Violation | Action | Consequence |
| First Violation | Phone is given to student's subschool and they can retrieve it at the end of the day. | Warning |
| Section Violation | Phone is given to student's subschool and they can retrieve it at the end of the day | 1 Day of Detention and Conference |
| Third Violation | Phone is given to student's subschool and they can retrieve it at the end of the day. | 2 Days of Detention and Parent Conference with Administrator |
| Additional Violations | Any additional times a student violates the cell phone policy, their phone will be taken to their subschool. | 3 Days of Detention; Referral to MTSS Support Team; Student must drop off device to subschool Every Morning for the next 20 days of school |
