Technology Student Association Shines!

The Technology Student Association (TSA)offers over 70 exciting competitions that bring STEM to life for middle and high school students. These events cover everything from building robots and racing CO2 dragsters to coding video games and filming short movies. Unlike a standard science fair, TSA challenges students to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world technical problems. Every project also includes a "Leadership" component, where students document how they worked as a team and grew as leaders throughout the process.

The journey starts at the local school level and moves up to state and national conferences.  In most cases, preliminary rounds involve an objective test or a project evaluation, with top-scoring "semifinalists" moving on to a second round that often includes a formal presentation or a rigorous interview with industry judges. This tiered approach not only identifies technical excellence but also prepares students for the high-stakes environments of professional STEM careers.  Through these competitions, students don't just win trophies—they build a professional portfolio, gain confidence in public speaking, and get a head start on careers in engineering, design, and technology.
