Ana McCoy

Grades 1-3 Teacher, ES

Mrs. McCoy joined the Columbia community in 2025! She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She also graduated from the Relay Graduate School of Education, earning a Master of Education in Teaching degree, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, earning a Master of Education in School Leadership. Mrs. McCoy had taught 5th, 4th, and 3rd grades, and most recently served as an elementary school assistant principal for five years before transitioning back into the classroom. She was born in Mexico and raised in New Mexico, and she is passionate about education, equity, and supporting students to meet their potential. Outside of school, Mrs. McCoy enjoys reading, running, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters. A fun fact about Mrs. McCoy is that she has visited 25 countries and her first stop is always a local bookstore.
