📲New Cell Phone Policy Starts July 1

On Thursday, May 7, the Fairfax County School Board approved changes to the FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) . The approved changes include updated guidance for cellphone possession and use, to align the FCPS cellphone policy with Senate Bill 108 . This new Virginia law goes into effect on July 1 and states that all schools in the Commonwealth must follow a “bell-to-bell” phone-free policy.

This means that starting July 1, 2026, across all grade levels at FCPS, student cellphones, phone accessories, and all smart devices (including watches that serve a dual purpose, such as smart watches, as well as earbuds, headsets, smart glasses, and other other items connected to the internet) must be off and personally stored (i.e., put away in backpacks) for the duration of the school day — thus, no cellphones from bell to bell.

Members of All County Chorus get ready for their big performance!

Small School, BIG Heart! 💓

Dear Fairfax Villa Community,

It has been another wonderful spring week here at Fairfax Villa! Our students continue to impress us each day as they learn, grow, and support one another. Classrooms are filled with curiosity, creativity, and determination, and it is a joy to see the progress our students are making as we move closer to the end of the year.

We are especially excited for Bingo Night tonight from 6:00–8:00 PM and hope you will be able to join us! It promises to be a fun-filled evening with exciting games, great prizes, concessions, and, most importantly, an opportunity to connect as a community. Events like this remind us how special our Fairfax Villa family truly is.

I would also like to take a moment to highlight an important opportunity to get involved. We are currently seeking new PTA Board members for the upcoming school year.

One of the most impactful ways to support this work of our school is through our PTA. The PTA raises and distributes funds while also creating opportunities for community connection and celebration. Thanks to their efforts, we have been able to provide essential office and art supplies, teacher resources, field trip transportation, clinic beds, and so much more. The PTA helps bridge the gap between school budgets and classroom needs, while also bringing our community together in meaningful ways.

If you are able, please consider serving on the PTA Board for the upcoming school year. We are looking for a few dedicated leaders to help organize events, support our school, and celebrate the incredible staff who guide our children each day.

If you are interested in learning more or stepping into this role, please reach out through email at [email protected] .

Thank you, as always, for the trust you place in us and for the opportunity to care for and educate your children each day. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly. Please do not hesitate to reach out at any time—we are always here to support you.

Ms. Textoris & Mrs. Burke

Dear Fairfax Villa Community,

It was another great week at Fairfax Villa, where teachers and students were actively engaged in meaningful lessons, building strong connections, and truly enjoying their time together. It is always wonderful to see the sense of community that makes our school such a special place.

✅Our New Visitor Management System

We are excited to announce that our school is now using the new Raptor Visitor Management System (VMS). This upgrade is part of our school’s and FCPS’ ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety and streamlining the process for visitors at our school. The VMS ensures that no visitor is on the sex offender registry.

For most visitors, the user experience will be the same when you check-in at the front office.

But now there is also an app, which can make check-in’s even faster at school. Visitors who choose to download the RaptorSafe App and create a Raptor Passport can pre-verify their information before they get to school. The app will give you a QR code you can use when you check-in at school.

If you have questions or need assistance with the new system, please contact our front office. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe!
