Ms. Prezioso and a student have some fun at our first annual Bike Rodeo!
Small School, BIG Heart! 💓Dear Fairfax Villa Community,
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible effort our students have been showing each day. We are so proud of our students who have been working through end-of-year testing with dedication and diligence. Their perseverance, focus, and positive attitudes have truly been wonderful to see.
In classrooms across the building, students continue working hard on their studies as we head into the home stretch of the school year. Our teachers have also been planning fun end-of-year activities and celebrations for students. More information and details about upcoming class celebrations will be shared by classroom teachers soon.
If you would like to access your student’s SOL Scores, they are available through ParentVUE. If you need assistance logging in or accessing your account, please contact our main office, and we will be happy to support you.

📲New Cell Phone Policy Starts July 1On Thursday, May 7, the Fairfax County School Board approved changes to the FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) . The approved changes include updated guidance for cellphone possession and use, to align the FCPS cellphone policy with Senate Bill 108 . This new Virginia law goes into effect on July 1 and states that all schools in the Commonwealth must follow a “bell-to-bell” phone-free policy.
This means that starting July 1, 2026, across all grade levels at FCPS, student cellphones, phone accessories, and all smart devices (including watches that serve a dual purpose, such as smart watches, as well as earbuds, headsets, smart glasses, and other other items connected to the internet) must be off and personally stored (i.e., put away in backpacks) for the duration of the school day — thus, no cellphones from bell to bell.

🩺Required Immunizations for Rising 7th GradersAs required by the Code of VA , parents or legal guardians need to provide proof of immunizations for their child to attend at a Virginia public school.
In addition, all students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations :
- Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap) given at age 7 or older;
- Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) given at age 10 or older;
- A complete series of 2 doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parents or guardians sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment with your child’s healthcare provider now to avoid the rush this summer. Immunization appointments are available. Inspire Health Alliance will be providing immunizations for currently enrolled FCPS students at no out-of-pocket cost. Visit the Inspire Immunization Events Student Registration webpage to schedule an appointment.
Please review the Virginia Department of Health Information Packet (PDF) for more information on rising 7th grade immunization requirements.
Additional Immunization Resources are also available.
🛝Community Peers Playdate and OpportunityWe are pleased to announce that we will have community peers in our preschool program for the 26-27 school year. This will involve teaching preschoolers with delays and without delays in the same classroom. It can provide young children with a more stimulating environment, teach skills for coping with different situations, and provide the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills.
Our program will invite a limited number of community preschoolers (1-2 per class), who are aged 3.5-5 years, to participate in our daily preschool activities. The children from the community will have the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences with current early childhood special education students. Our students will, in turn, benefit from being with community peers who can model appropriate language, motor, and social skills.
On Monday, May 18th at 2:00we will be holding a playdate on the playground for your student and parent information session in the main office. You and your student mustattend the playdate/parent information session. Please let us know if you are interested. by calling the school at 703-267-2800.

📚Literacy Bag Check-Outs Are Open!WHAT:Thanks to a grant from Educate Fairfax, we are able to begin a program for all of our families to check out Family Literacy Activity Bags from the Villa Library! The bags are designed for students of ALL AGES (including the adults) so that the entire family can enjoy reading together.
WHY:Reading at-home with your children is important to their reading and writing development. Children hear fluent reading, can discuss their understanding, and learn new vocabulary from reading a book with an adult.
HOW:Here is the link to the Check-out form and the required Permission form (you can complete them electronically).
Please submit a request via the link each week you would like a bag to go home on Thursday. We will reach out to let you know a bag is being checked out to you during the week.
