Service Dog Visit
Service Dog Visits Bring Joy and Calm to Our Students
This year, our school has been fortunate to welcome a very special visitor Rylynn, a certified service dog who comes to support students through calming companionship and connection. Coordinated by our school social worker, Lisa Hershaft, these visits have quickly become a highlight for many of our students.
Rylynn will be returning several more times throughout the school year, giving students opportunities to read to her, pet her, and simply enjoy some quiet time together. Interacting with service dogs like Rylynn has been shown to help reduce stress and create a sense of comfort, and we see the positive impact each time she visits. Our students absolutely light up when she walks through the door!
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Miss Sam from the Fairfax County Department of Family Services for visiting with her sweet pup and helping make these moments possible.
We look forward to more wonderful visits with Rylynn and the joy she brings to our school community!
