This past week, May 4th-8th, was Staff and Teacher Appreciation week for Herndon High School. The students are so thankful for the education, guidance, friendship, and hard work each and every staff member has put in to the 2025-2026 school year. Along with posters on the walls and kind words from our hearts, the staff have been shown gratitude in the other following ways.

Subs, Service, and Success

.

The Herndon PTSA teamed up with Mayor Keven LeBlanc to host a celebratory Jersey Mike’s luncheon, welcoming distinguished guests including Region 1 Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jameile Choice, former PTSA President Richard Culatta, and DSIS Assistant Superintendent Marie Lemmon. During the event, Mayor LeBlanc highlighted the afternoon by presenting Assistant Principal Dana Van Slyke with a formal proclamation honoring her remarkable legacy of over 30 years of dedicated service to Herndon High School.

Full Mailboxes, Fuller Hearts

.

During Herndon’s Staff Appreciation Week, every staff member discovered their mailbox brimming with a new charging cord, a sweet candy bar, and a heartfelt thank you note. This thoughtful gesture served as a powerful reminder that their hard work is the true energy source behind the school's success.

Frozen Treats for a Sizzling Staff

The Herndon Leadership Class treated the entire faculty to a refreshing break by bringing a Mr. Softee truck directly to campus for Staff Appreciation Week. Every staff member enjoyed their choice of creamy ice cream or chilled Italian ice as a sweet "thank you" for their dedication to the student body.

Thank you to everyone who makes Herndon High School possible and helps students thrive!
