Records Requests
Per FCPS policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) student records are only available to those who have authorization from the student. Requests must come from the former students if they are 18 years of age or older and/or a graduate. Records will not be released to others unless specific written consent is given.
Current Students
Current Student Records Request Form . Allow two weeks' processing time. No fees for current students.
Unofficial transcriptscan now be seen in StudentVUE and ParentVUE. Hard copies are provided to current students only. Students may request an unofficial transcript using their fcpsschools.net email to contact the transcript assistant or their counselor. Unofficial transcripts will only be sent to the fcpsschools.net email.
Seniors:Please see the College Transcripts page for transcripts related to college applications, as well as other important information. Documents for college applications are not processed over the summer.
Former Students Within Five Years
Former Student Records Request Form . Fill out and sign the attached forms and submit payment. Former students must include a copy of your driver's license or other government-issued photo ID to establish your identity.
An unofficial copy of your transcript was placed behind your diploma; please look there if an unofficial copy will do. We cannot process unofficial transcripts for former students.
- Include your full name while attending HHS and your FCPS ID, if possible.
- Transcripts will be processed once payment, forms, and a copy of your photo ID have been received.
- A link to the payment portal is at the bottom of this page. Please note:Submitting just the payment is NOT a request for records. For payment by check, make the check payable to Herndon High School.
- Forms can be sent by email to the transcript assistant (email address is on the form), brought to HHS, or mailed to Herndon High School, Transcript Office, 700 Bennett Street, Herndon VA 20170. The above form and a copy of your photo ID must be returned for the request to be processed. You may print and sign the forms by hand, then send a scan or photo to the transcript assistant through email.
- Official transcripts may be processed as a hard copy or submitted electronically. Official transcripts for recent graduates in support of college applications may be sent through Naviance/Parchment. Official transcripts can be sent by email to an official email address (such as admissions @ college.edu). Official transcripts will not be sent to a personal email address. HHS counselors do not have access to Common App for alumni.
- Records may not be able to be processed while you wait. If not, they will be mailed, or you will be notified when they are ready to be picked up. Records not picked up within 30 days will be destroyed.
