English Language Arts

Outcomes

  • By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, the percentage of SWDs passing their reading SOL will increase from 34% (unadjusted) to44% (unadjusted).
  • By June, 2026, all students will maintain or increase our overall pass rate on the Reading SOL from 59%unadjusted from the 2024-2025 school year.                       

Strategies

  • Increased Rigor: Enhance access to rigorous, evidence-based curriculum via strategic modifications, scaffolds, and supports in reading and writing instruction
  • Common Assessments: Leverage formative and summative assessment data to inform core reading and writing instruction
  • Data-Driven Instruction: Use data to plan and monitor Tier 3 instruction, ensuring students master foundational skills during intervention

Algebra 1

Outcomes

  • By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, the percentage of SWDs passing their math SOL will increase from 30% (unadjusted) to 40% (unadjusted).
  • With an increased enrollment rate in Algebra 1 for the 2025-2026 school year we will maintain or increase our SOL pass rate from 95% unadjusted.                     

Strategies

  • Explicit Instruction: Increase teachers' use of explicit instruction and other effective components for mathematics intervention
  • Teacher Collaboration: Increase formal collaboration between teachers and ESOL teachers to develop math language through embedded strategies
  • Support Systems: Increase support systems during the school day, after school, and summer to help students succeed in math               

Science

Outcomes

  • The 8th grade science SOL pass score goal for 2026 is 70% while also looking for growth across all subgroups, specifically with SWD.            

Strategies

  • Hands-on Learning: Increase frequency of inquiry-based and hands on learning experiences for students
  • Vocabulary Application: Increase student opportunities to apply vocabulary through evidence-based arguments and reasoning
  • Science Literacy: Increase opportunities to develop and apply science literacy skills like reading, writing, discussing, and critical thinking

ML Progress

Outcomes

  • By June of 2026, 60% or greater percentage of ML students will make growth as measured by WIDA.

Strategies

  • Language Strategies: Use language-focused strategies and scaffolds that match student proficiency to promote oral language development and peer interactions
  • Progress Monitoring: Use progress-monitoring routines with assessments to track student progress, revise language goals, and guide instructional decisions
  • Collab & Co-planning: Increase co-planning between ESOL and special education teachers to address students' language and learning needs

Chronic Absenteeism

Outcome

By June 2026, our chronic absenteeism rate will decrease from 17.9% to 12.9% (representing a decrease of 5%).

Strategies

  • Student Interventions: MTSS teams analyze attendance, behavior, and wellness data bi-monthly to identify students needing Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions
  • Student Engagement: Teachers and staff will model social-emotional skills, build relationships, and provide support to boost student engagement
  • Family Communication: School will share multilingual materials to educate families about the importance of consistent attendance for success
