Course Selection for 2026-2027
Middle school course options, course selection information, and academic advising timelines.
To prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, please review the Course Selection materials for your grade level. Join us for our annual curriculum night on Thursday, January 15 (6-7:30 p.m.). Learn about the different course options available to students.
Parents who do not have a ParentVue SIS account can request one on the FCPS Website . This will allow them to verify the classes their student has selected. We are looking forward to helping you pick your courses for next year.
All courses offered at FCPS/Key MS are listed in the course catalog. Courses offered at each grade level will be listed in the course selection materials that will be shared by grade level in January and February.

Timeline for Rising 7th Grade Students (Current 6th Graders)
January 15, 2026| Rising 7th and 8th Grade Curriculum Night & Electives Fair at Key MS.
- Rising 7th and 8th grade students and families are invited to come learn about Key MS, our academic opportunities, and electives courses!
January 20 - 23, 2026| Rising 7th Grade Field Trips to Key MS.
- Rising 7th graders from each feeder ES will visit Key MS to learn about courses, take a tour, and learn about our school.
January 20 - February 20, 2026| Rising 7th Grade Academic Advising & Course Selection.
- Rising 7th graders will meet with their school counselor for academic advising and course selection for the 2026-2027 school year.
February 27, 2026| Rising 7th Grade Course Selections Due in StudentVUE.

February 27, 2026| Rising 8th Grade Course Selections Due in StudentVUE.

January 12, 2026| Rising 9th Grade Curriculum Night & Electives Fair at Lewis High School.
- Lewis HS will host rising 9th grade students and families to learn about 9th grade courses and opportunities.
February 23-25, 2026| Rising 9th Grade Presentation

March 2-6, 2026| Rising 9th Grade Academic Advising & Course Selection.
- Rising 9th graders will meet with their school counselor for academic advising and course selection for the 2026-2027 school year.
March 6, 2026| Rising 9th Grade Course Selections Due in StudentVUE.
