Longfellow Middle School offers a robust afterschool program, offering a diverse range of activities and intramural sports for our students. Our goal is to provide quality programming in the areas of academic support and enrichment, social skills and youth development, physical health and wellness, and family and community involvement.
Our shared philosophy is that students who engage in after school activities are more likely to develop positive attitudes towards school, achieve full academic potential, and become productive citizens. Students are encouraged to maintain a balance between their instructional studies, after-school activities, and other outside interests. Throughout the course of this school year, your child will have an opportunity to get involved in an array of clubs, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities.
All after-school information will be posted on the Longfellow website, on Schoology, and displayed on the TVs around the school.
Late Buses
Students are provided bus transportation home on late bus days Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Bus stops differ from the regular bus stops. Students should check SIS to find their late bus numbers. Students may be picked up by parents at any time. All students must be picked up by 4:45PM. Students who leave the building are not permitted to return for second block activities or to take the late bus home.
Student Responsibilities
After school activities are an extension of the school day and all students must follow the Student Rights and Responsibilities Code of Conduct. Additionally, all students must sign in upon arrival to their activity for safety and accountability purposes. Students are not allowed to order food or have food delivered from any food delivery service.
