Early Release Wednesdays 2025-26

Limited Early Release Wednesdays are a unique situation this school year, with seven remaining dates including October 29, November 12, December 10, February 18, March 18, April 22, and May 13. Use our dismissal app Pickup Patrol to indicate your student's dismissal plan on these days.

Family Culture Night 2026

In mid April Mantua hosted a wonderful Family Engagement Night for families in our school community to learn about each other's culture and celebrate our diversity.

Reading Specialist Embraces Opportunities to Learn

In late February Mantua hosted a vibrant Family Engagement Night for students in Preschool through 6th grade.

A Day of Fun and Learning at the FCPS Summer Extravaganza

Nearly 2,000 community members, including more than 500 students, attended the third annual FCPS Summer Extravaganza for a day of learning, exploration, and connection.

South County Senior Stitches Together His Future

The soft jingle of bells follows South County senior Dexter Burris as he sets up his creations in the school’s Black Box Theatre. Detailed costumes from the musical Cinderella are displayed on forms. He carefully arranges pieces of his award-winning art piece, "Roland," a jester opossum fur suit featuring intricate details, including finger pads and a skeleton cross-section on the tail. The craftsmanship on display reflects years of practice, dedication, and a lot of whimsy.

FCPS To Host Instructional Teacher Job Fair on Wednesday, June 24

Join Team FCPS! Fairfax County Public Schools will be hosting an in-person instructional job fair on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.) at Lake Braddock Secondary School. There will be networking and interviewing opportunities with representatives from FCPS schools.

In many ways, Ryan McFaul is like many young men in their 20s. He likes music, basketball, jokes, and sunglasses. In his free time, he’s on his phone. He’s been working at the Hyatt. He has a huge smile and likes to make his friends laugh. This month, Ryan will transition out of public education after a complete FCPS journey from pre-K through age 22 at Davis Career Center (DCC).
