Welcome Letter to the Class of 2026

Dear MVHS Class of 2026 and Families,

Welcome to your final, momentous year at Mount Vernon High School! As your Senior Class Administrator, I want to extend my warmest greetings as we embark on this exciting journey together toward graduation.

The Class of 2026 has already shown resilience, leadership, and school spirit in so many ways, and now you stand on the threshold of senior year—a time to celebrate accomplishments, deepen friendships, and prepare for what comes next.

This year will be full of opportunities: to excel academically, to lead with integrity, and to create memories that last a lifetime. We are committed to supporting you every step of the way. Our staff is here to help you reach your goals, whether that means college, career, military service, or other aspirations.

We know everyone is eager to get details about graduation. While the official graduation date has not yet been released, please know we will update the senior events calendar as soon as it is announced. An updated calendar will also be shared each month so you can plan ahead for all of our senior activities and important milestones.

The first event I want to share with you is Senior Sunrise where we will gather to celebrate your first official day as a Senior on the field of the stadium. More information will  be posted soon as well as a link to the Google Form to sign up to bring non-perishable breakfast items.

We would also like to invite as many parents as possible to join our Parent Council, which will help plan and raise funds for SeniorFest. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference for our students. Our first Parent Council meeting will be held on September 10 at 6:30 pm, and we hope to see you there.

As seniors, you set the tone for our entire school community. I encourage you to continue to model respect, kindness, and dedication, showing underclassmen what it means to be a Mount Vernon Major graduate.

Please know that our doors are always open. If you have questions, ideas, or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s work together to make the 2025–2026 school year one to remember!.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone. I can’t wait to celebrate your achievements in the months ahead and to watch you cross the stage at graduation as the Class of 2026!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Payne
