'Twas the week before Thanksgiving, at Mt. Vernon Woods,
Kids were buzzing with joy, as only our students could. In Mrs. Johnson's Portrait of a Graduate class, excitement filled the air,
For Ozobots were waiting — tiny robots everywhere!

Kinders and first graders gathered markers with care,
Hoping their colorful codes would guide Ozobots there.
They learned to be Communicators, sharing what they knew:
“I make connections to what I read and hear too!”
With giggles and teamwork, their paths came to life,
Even when lines got wiggly, or a turn caused some strife.

Second graders got bolder, trying patterns brand-new,
Saying, “I’m a Creative and Critical Thinker, I use imagination for ideas I can try, too!”
Their Ozobots zoomed forward, then suddenly reversed—
Debugging their routes, they tried second lines first.
And when something was tricky or didn’t go right,
They showed they were Resilient, giving problems another bite:
“I don’t give up when something is hard,” they’d proudly say,
Adjusting their codes and trying a new way.

Fourth graders, with teamwork, planned courses so smart,
Each group a Collaborator, each map a work of art.
“I help my team finish our work,” they reminded each other,
Solving turns and intersections, supporting one another.
With strategy and chatter, their designs came alive,
And cheers filled the room when each bot made it through the drive.

From kindergarten to fourth grade, the skills shone so bright—
Creativity, communication, teamwork done right.Goal-directed and resilient, they worked with delight,
Their Portrait of a Graduate traits glowing in sight.

So as Thanksgiving approached, with joy far and near,
We celebrated the learners we’re thankful for here. For with Ozobots and heart, our students showed their best—
At Mt. Vernon Woods ES, they outshine all the rest!
