Lisa Blake
Lisa Blake’s journey in education began playfully, inspired by an early memory of visiting her grandmother's classroom at just three years old. She recalls walking on the wooden chalk ledge, delighting the students, and later playing "school" for hours on end. This early spark ignited a career spanning over 33 years across Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Lisa has enriched the lives of countless students as a classroom teacher across grades 3-5 and has guided educators as an instructional math coach. For the past three years, she has brought her wealth of experience and passion for serving to Hollin Meadows Elementary, serving as an Assistant Principal in FCPS.
Her strong foundation in education began with earning a bachelor's and master’s degree in early childhood/Elementary Education and Curriculum & Instruction, respectively, from Frostburg State University. She further honed her leadership skills by earning a master’s in administration and leadership from Old Dominion University.
Lisa's passion for fostering strong relationships with staff, students, and parents is what drives her every day. This commitment to connection was recognized through two significant accolades: the 2024-2025 Outstanding Leader award from her former school, a testament to her impact on staff, and the FCCPTA 2025 Shining Stars Award for Power Principal, reflecting the appreciation of parents. These awards demonstrate her capacity to inspire and lead entire school communities.
You will find her browsing bookstores and thrift shops and then indulging in fancy pizza. Her passions include reading, word searches, and expressing her creativity through art and home decoration.
Family is very important to Lisa, as she frequently visits her parents in Western Maryland and her Pop in Tennessee. She also cherishes spending time with her husband Tim, her three beautiful daughters and her beloved pets: Piglet and Winnie, her two dogs, and Grover, her new kitten.
