READING BY 3RD GRADE
AREA 1
Outcomes
By June 2026, special education students in grades K-3 will demonstrate benchmark growth in reading as measured by the VALLSS assessment. Student growth will increase by 5%.
Special education students in grades 4-6 will demonstrate growth in reading as measured by the SOL. Student growth will increase by 5% on the Reading SOL.
By June 2026, students in grades K-3 will demonstrate benchmark growth in reading as measured by the VALLSS screener. Student growth will increase by 5%.
Strategies
Increase the efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have access to both explicit instruction and daily practice in reading and writing (ex. classroom walkthroughs, CT planning, coaching).
Increase access to rigorous evidence-based, grade-level curriculum through intentional use of scaffolds and supports in reading and writing lessons during tier 1 and 2 instruction (ex. Integrated ELD, GLAD strategies, FCPS resources for students with disabilities).
Ensure fidelity of implementation in tier 3 intervention programs to maximize student progress (ex. fidelity toolkits, program matching, intervention effectiveness protocol, intervention walkthroughs).
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH
AREA 2
Outcomes
By June 2026, all Special Education students in grades 1-2 will demonstrate expected screener within-year growth on the MAP growth assessment as measured by the Spring Math MAP growth assessment and increase the pass rate by 5% from the year prior.
All special education students in Kindergarten will demonstrate benchmark growth as measured by the Spring EMAS Assessment and increase the pass rate by 5% from the previous year.
All special education students in grade 3-6 will demonstrate within-year growth on the MAP growth assessment as measured by the Spring MAP and increase the Math SOL pass rate by 5% from 2025.
By June 2026, all students in grades 3-6 will demonstrate expected screener within-year growth in Math as measured by the Spring MAP growth assessment and Spring Math SOL. Student growth will increase by 5% from the year prior.
Strategies
Improve alignment of instructional planning based on analysis of common assessments.
Increase teachers' implementation of balanced assessment strategies as related to Shift 8: from looking for correct answers towards revealing student thinking.
Improve the integrity of implementation of core curriculum, and/or intervention programs by using FCPS-adopted resources with fidelity to align with the Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRESS
AREA 3
Outcomes
By the end of Spring 2026, the percentage of multilingual learners making VDOE WIDA Growth as measured by the WIDA ACCESS will increase by 5%.
Strategies
Monitor to ensure all multilingual learners are receiving explicit ELD instruction using the appropriate resources as outlined in ELD guidance documents: elementary (resource 1), middle and high school (resource 2).
(Elementary) Increase collaboration among grade-level team members, including ESOL teachers, to proactively plan for scaffolds and support for instruction and assessment of multilingual learners that match the students’ English language proficiency (Benchmark Advance iELD and integrated language resources: language objectives, multilingual glossary, etc.).
SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING & WELLNESS
AREA 4
Outcomes
All students in grade 3-6 will show an increase of 5% in their Emotional Regulation proficiency level as measured by the Spring 2026 SEL Screener.
Strategies
Identified time in the master schedule is used to implement Morning Meeting (ES) or Responsive Advisory Meeting (MS/HS) with fidelity to improve student perceptions of belonging and SEL skills.
Implement a Tier 1 evidence-based SEL curriculum with fidelity, ensuring all students receive consistent, explicit SEL skills instruction.
SCHOOL CHOICE- GET2GREEN
AREA 5
Outcomes
By June 2026, all students will develop a deeper connection to nature and their local environment, fostering an appreciation for biodiversity and promoting responsible stewardship.
Strategies
All grade level classrooms will conduct one lesson in outdoor learning per quarter and support Get 2 Green initiatives in the building.
