READING BY 3RD GRADE

Outcomes
  • By June 2026, our Students with Disabilities in grades K-3 will show 5% growth from Spring 2025 (80%) to Spring 2026 (85%) as measured by VALLSS Screener.
  • By June 2026 students in grades 3-6 will improve the pass advanced rate by 5% from 28% to 33% as measured by the Reading SOL.
Strategies
  • Use data from formative and summative assessments in the core curriculum to guide instructional decisions during tier 1 and tier 2 reading and writing instruction (ex. data dialogues, CT data discussions).
  • Increase access to rigorous evidence-based, grade-level curriculum through intentional use of scaffolds and supports in reading and writing lessons during tier 1 and 2 instruction (ex. Integrated ELD, GLAD strategies, FCPS resources for students with disabilities)."                            

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH

Outcomes
  • By June 2026 our grade 3-6 Students with Disabilities math SOL pass rate will increase from 69% to 74%.  
  • By June 2026 grade 1-6 students will increase within-year growth from 65% to 70% as measured by the math screener (MAP).
Strategies
  • Increase teachers' implementation of balanced assessment strategies as related to Shift 8: from looking for correct answers towards revealing student thinking.
  • Improve the integrity of implementation of core curriculum, and/or intervention programs by using FCPS-adopted resources with fidelity to align with the Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction."                            

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING & WELLNESS

Outcomes
  • By Spring 2026 students in grades 3-5 will report an increase in percent favorable from 60% to 65% on the SEL Screener category of Emotional Regulation.
  • By Spring 2026 students in grade 6 will report an increase in percent favorable from 66% to 71% on the SEL Screener category of Emotional Regulation.                       
Strategies
  • Implement a Tier 1 evidence-based SEL curriculum with fidelity, ensuring all students receive consistent, explicit SEL skills instruction.
  • Provide families with multiple opportunities to learn about mental health and SEL and provide feedback that will inform school planning (e.g., newsletters, family events, family surveys, etc.).
