The mission of the Office of Chief Operating Officer is to provide community use of school facilities, safe and efficient student transportation, and food programs to support student academic achievement within FCPS.

The Office of Chief Operating Officer is organized into four areas of responsibility to provide effective and efficient services to FCPS employees, parents, and the community:

Administrative Services

Administrative Services provides administrative and logistical support by overseeing the community use of FCPS facilities, supporting departmental technology requirements, and providing departmental financial, budgeting, and contract management coordination.

Food and Nutrition Services

Food and Nutrition Services is dedicated to all FCPS' students and school communities.  We believe daily access to food and nutrition is essential for children to succeed and reach their full potential. FNS' mission is to provide children with the tools and resources needed to foster life-long healthy eating behaviors.

Transportation Services

Transportation Services provides safe and efficient student transportation. Transportation Services is responsible for basic day-to-day transportation from neighborhood bus stops for both division and contract schools; shuttle runs for mid-day transportation; late bus runs after normal school closing; and transportation for schools' educational and athletic field trips.

Transportation Services operates a transportation training center to provide well-trained drivers and attendants; supervises the purchase and maintenance of all school-owned vehicles; and ensures that each school bus driver has met all local, state, and federal requirements.

Warehouse Operations

The FCPS Warehouse provides pick-up of obsolete/surplus equipment and textbooks. It also hosts auctions of surplus equipment
