Publishing Resources: Altmetrics

Resources to help with getting published

What are Altmetrics?

Altmetrics are non-traditional metrics (alternative metrics) used to analyze the research impact of article metrics via social networks and media, as opposed to traditional metrics such as journal impact factors or citation and article level factors.  Some examples of altmetrics, include how many times an article has been downloaded from a publisher's site or a library's databases, or how many times a citation or link is shared on social media or traditional media outlets.
