Reference documentation and code samples for the Google Cloud Dataproc V1 Client class ClusterControllerClient.
Service Description: The ClusterControllerService provides methods to manage clusters of Compute Engine instances.
This class provides the ability to make remote calls to the backing service through method calls that map to API methods. Sample code to get started:
$clusterControllerClient = new ClusterControllerClient();
try {
$projectId = 'project_id';
$region = 'region';
$cluster = new Cluster();
$operationResponse = $clusterControllerClient->createCluster($projectId, $region, $cluster);
$operationResponse->pollUntilComplete();
if ($operationResponse->operationSucceeded()) {
$result = $operationResponse->getResult();
// doSomethingWith($result)
} else {
$error = $operationResponse->getError();
// handleError($error)
}
// Alternatively:
// start the operation, keep the operation name, and resume later
$operationResponse = $clusterControllerClient->createCluster($projectId, $region, $cluster);
$operationName = $operationResponse->getName();
// ... do other work
$newOperationResponse = $clusterControllerClient->resumeOperation($operationName, 'createCluster');
while (!$newOperationResponse->isDone()) {
// ... do other work
$newOperationResponse->reload();
}
if ($newOperationResponse->operationSucceeded()) {
$result = $newOperationResponse->getResult();
// doSomethingWith($result)
} else {
$error = $newOperationResponse->getError();
// handleError($error)
}
} finally {
$clusterControllerClient->close();
}
Methods
getOperationsClient
Return an OperationsClient object with the same endpoint as $this.
resumeOperation
Resume an existing long running operation that was previously started by a long running API method. If $methodName is not provided, or does not match a long running API method, then the operation can still be resumed, but the OperationResponse object will not deserialize the final response.
operationName
string
The name of the long running operation
methodName
string
The name of the method used to start the operation
__construct
Constructor.
options
array
Optional. Options for configuring the service API wrapper.
↳ apiEndpoint
string
The address of the API remote host. May optionally include the port, formatted as "
↳ credentials
string|array|FetchAuthTokenInterface|CredentialsWrapper
The credentials to be used by the client to authorize API calls. This option accepts either a path to a credentials file, or a decoded credentials file as a PHP array. Advanced usage : In addition, this option can also accept a pre-constructed {@see} object or {@see} object. Note that when one of these objects are provided, any settings in $credentialsConfig will be ignored.
↳ credentialsConfig
array
Options used to configure credentials, including auth token caching, for the client. For a full list of supporting configuration options, see {@see} .
↳ disableRetries
bool
Determines whether or not retries defined by the client configuration should be disabled. Defaults to false
.
↳ clientConfig
string|array
Client method configuration, including retry settings. This option can be either a path to a JSON file, or a PHP array containing the decoded JSON data. By default this settings points to the default client config file, which is provided in the resources folder.
↳ transport
string|TransportInterface
The transport used for executing network requests. May be either the string rest
or grpc
. Defaults to grpc
if gRPC support is detected on the system. Advanced usage
: Additionally, it is possible to pass in an already instantiated {@see} object. Note that when this object is provided, any settings in $transportConfig, and any $apiEndpoint setting, will be ignored.
↳ transportConfig
array
Configuration options that will be used to construct the transport. Options for each supported transport type should be passed in a key for that transport. For example: $transportConfig = [ 'grpc' => [...], 'rest' => [...], ]; See the {@see} and {@see} methods for the supported options.
↳ clientCertSource
callable
A callable which returns the client cert as a string. This can be used to provide a certificate and private key to the transport layer for mTLS.
createCluster
Creates a cluster in a project. The returned Operation.metadata will be ClusterOperationMetadata .
projectId
string
Required. The ID of the Google Cloud Platform project that the cluster belongs to.
region
string
Required. The Dataproc region in which to handle the request.
cluster
optionalArgs
array
Optional.
↳ requestId
string
Optional. A unique ID used to identify the request. If the server receives two CreateClusterRequest s with the same id, then the second request will be ignored and the first google.longrunning.Operation created and stored in the backend is returned. It is recommended to always set this value to a UUID . The ID must contain only letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), underscores (_), and hyphens (-). The maximum length is 40 characters.
↳ actionOnFailedPrimaryWorkers
int
Optional. Failure action when primary worker creation fails. For allowed values, use constants defined on {@see}
↳ retrySettings
RetrySettings|array
Retry settings to use for this call. Can be a {@see} object, or an associative array of retry settings parameters. See the documentation on {@see} for example usage.

clusterName
string
Required. The cluster name.
cluster
updateMask
Google\Protobuf\FieldMask
Required. Specifies the path, relative to Cluster
, of the field to update. For example, to change the number of workers in a cluster to 5, the update_mask
parameter would be specified as config.worker_config.num_instances
, and the PATCH
request body would specify the new value, as follows: { "config":{ "workerConfig":{ "numInstances":"5" } } } Similarly, to change the number of preemptible workers in a cluster to 5, the update_mask
parameter would be config.secondary_worker_config.num_instances
, and the PATCH
request body would be set as follows: { "config":{ "secondaryWorkerConfig":{ "numInstances":"5" } } } Note:Currently, only the following fields can be updated:
Mask | Purpose |
labels | Update labels |
config.worker_config.num_instances | Resize primary worker group |
config.secondary_worker_config.num_instances | Resize secondary worker group |
config.autoscaling_config.policy_uri | Use, stop using, or change autoscaling policies |
optionalArgs
array
Optional.
↳ gracefulDecommissionTimeout
Duration
Optional. Timeout for graceful YARN decomissioning. Graceful decommissioning allows removing nodes from the cluster without interrupting jobs in progress. Timeout specifies how long to wait for jobs in progress to finish before forcefully removing nodes (and potentially interrupting jobs). Default timeout is 0 (for forceful decommission), and the maximum allowed timeout is 1 day. (see JSON representation of Duration ). Only supported on Dataproc image versions 1.2 and higher.
↳ requestId
string
Optional. A unique ID used to identify the request. If the server receives two UpdateClusterRequest s with the same id, then the second request will be ignored and the first google.longrunning.Operation created and stored in the backend is returned.
