Designated users, who may include education leaders and support staff, may need to temporarily visit a class to support teachers and students. For example, they may need to assign a substitute teacher or review a student’s classwork page to support a guardian conversation. Workspace admins control who can visit a class in the Admin Console. People who can visit a class include, but are not limited to:
- Principals
- Department heads
- School counselors
- Curriculum leaders
- Administrative assistants
- Coaches and mentors
- IT admins
Learn what education leaders & staff can do when they visit your class
During an education leaders and support staff's visit to your class, they can:
- Perform all the tasks that a co-teacher can perform. Learn more about what co-teachers can do .
- View the same information as a co-teacher, such as teachers’ and students’ names, photos, and email addresses. Learn who can see your personal information in Classroom .
As the primary teacher, when education leaders or support staff visit your class, you receive an email notification.
Troubleshoot issues when someone visits your class
Scenario | Action to Take |
You don’t receive notifications when someone visits your class. | Check if you're the primary teacher. If needed, the primary teacher can transfer ownership of the class to you . |
You want someone to visit your class, but they aren’t able to. | Ask them to troubleshoot their access issue and contact their Workspace admin . |
