Find & ask about YouTube content in Gemini Apps

You can discover YouTube videos and get answers about them in Gemini Apps. Gemini uses public information from YouTube to help you:

• Find videos, playlists, and channels on a specific topic
• Understand the content of a video
• And more

• Be signed in to the Gemini app. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps .
• Keep Activity on.This feature isn’t available when this setting is off.

Important:

• For now, this feature isn’t available in Live chats.
• This feature isn’t available in Gemini in Google Messages.

You can ask Gemini to search for and tell you about YouTube videos, playlists, and channels.

1. On your computer, go to gemini.google.com .
2. Ask Gemini to find a video and then ask about it. Try this example prompt:
   • Find videos of how to quickly get grape juice out of a wool rug.
     Summarize the first video.

For now, the following actions aren’t supported in Gemini Apps when it’s connected to YouTube:

• Show a comprehensive list of videos from your watch history, liked videos, saved playlists, subscribed channels.
• Take actions that impact your YouTube experience, like saving a video to a playlist or adding a comment on a video.
