Pocket Watch (ca. 1885-1904) National Park Service, Museum Management Program
This sterling silver pocket watch was found within the walls of the Antram Gray House during restoration in 1980. It remains a mystery exactly why and how such a valuable item made its way into the walls. It may be associated with a watch shop that operated in the house from 1917 to 1969. This object is a fitting representative of the history of the Antram Gray House, which housed numerous local commercial endeavors throughout the 1800s and 1900s until it was acquired by the National Park Service in 1974.
