An idiomatic C++ client library for theKubernetes Engine API, a service to build and manage container-based applications, powered by the open source Kubernetes technology.
While this library isGA, please note Google Cloud C++ client libraries donotfollowSemantic Versioning.
Quickstart
The following shows the code that you'll run in thegoogle/cloud/container/quickstart/directory, which should give you a taste of the Kubernetes Engine API C++ client library API.
#include "google/cloud/container/v1/cluster_manager_client.h"
#include <iostream>
int main(int argc, char* argv[]) try {
if (argc != 3) {
std::cerr << "Usage: " << argv[0] << " project-id location-id\n";
return 1;
}
namespace container = ::google::cloud::container_v1;
auto client = container::ClusterManagerClient(
container::MakeClusterManagerConnection());
auto const location =
std::string{"projects/"} + argv[1] + "/locations/" + argv[2];
auto response = client.ListClusters(location);
if (!response) throw std::move(response).status();
for (auto const& c : response->clusters()) {
std::cout << c.DebugString() << "\n";
}
return 0;
} catch (google::cloud::Status const& status) {
std::cerr << "google::cloud::Status thrown: " << status << "\n";
return 1;
}
Main classes
The main class in this library iscontainer_v1::ClusterManagerClient. All RPCs are exposed as member functions of this class. Other classes provide helpers, configuration parameters, and infrastructure to mockcontainer_v1::ClusterManagerClientwhen testing your application.
Retry, Backoff, and Idempotency Policies.
The library automatically retries requests that fail with transient errors, and usesexponential backoffto backoff between retries. Application developers can override the default policies.
