GMSOverlayLayeris a custom subclass ofCALayer, and an abstract baseclass forGMSOverlaylayers that allow custom animations.
Note that thisCALayeror any subclass are never actually rendered directly, asGMSMapViewis
provided entirely via anOpenGLlayer. As such, adjustments or animations to ‘default’
properties ofCALayerwill not have any effect.
