7 Flow is a Chrome browser extension built for online school staff. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Access

7 Flow accesses the following data solely to perform its core function:

  • Clipboard content – read only when the user clicks a Bulk Open button, to extract 7-digit student IDs from previously copied text.
  • Selected text on the active page – read only when the user clicks a Bulk Open button, to extract highlighted student IDs from the current page.
  • Active tab URL – used only to deliver a message to the content script running on the current page. The URL itself is never read, stored, or transmitted.

Data We Store

7 Flow stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage:

  • Toggle settings – which Connexus pages you have enabled (e.g. Gradebook, Logs). Stored via chrome.storage.sync so your preferences carry across devices.
  • Open mode preference – whether you prefer Tabs or Windows. Stored via chrome.storage.sync.
  • Usage stats – a count of double-clicks, total pages opened, and per-page open counts. Stored locally via chrome.storage.local.

No student data, student IDs, names, or any personally identifiable information is ever stored by the extension.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect, transmit, or share any data with third parties.
  • We do not store clipboard content, page content, or browsing history.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
  • We do not store any student IDs or personally identifiable information.

Permissions Used

  • clipboardRead – to read copied cell data when the user initiates a Bulk Open action.
  • storage – to save user preferences and local usage stats.
  • tabs – to send a message to the content script on the active tab to read highlighted text.
  • windows – to open student pages in new browser windows when Windows mode is selected.
  • host permissions (*://*/*) – to inject the content script on all pages so double-click ID detection works wherever student IDs appear (Connexus, Google Sheets, Gmail, etc.).

Children's Privacy

7 Flow is a tool used by school staff and is not directed at children. The extension does not collect any data from or about students.

Changes to This Policy
